Global Innovation Index 2017: Sweden ranked among the most innovative countries in the world

In the Global Innovation Index (GII) for 2017, Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands, the USA and the UK are ranked as the world´s most innovative countries. Compared to the GII for 2016, Sweden remains the second most innovative country.

As a complement to the country-based ranking, this year´s GII has identified and ranked geographic clusters of inventive activity based on international patent filings. In this ranking, Stockholm came in at number 24 with 5,211 international patent filings.
